Economic Development • Over $3 billion in office, retail, and residential development projects under construction or planned, with a critical level of certainty, in downtown Jackson. Economic Development • Lakeland Drive at Old Fannin Road has seen over 1.3 million square feet of retail space, 3,000 jobs and $80 million of investment within the last 5 years, with more to come: o Market Street is planned to open early winter 2008 and will add 500,000 square feet of retail space to the area o The Flowood Town Center is approximately 300 acres of mixed-use “New Urbanism” development that will contain retail stores, residential communities, schools, and parks.
